Short Tour

Short tour is for people who buy one act show tickets.

In a pre-performance talk, we provide you with handouts with interesting information to maximize your enjoyment of Kabuki. This can include the play(s) synopsis, Kabuki basics and history, notes on the best bits to look out for in the show, background information about the actors etc. 

All guests have to stand in line after the tour to purchase one act show tickets. (There are some benches in front of the ticket office and the guests will sit and wait for the opening of the ticket office.) Approximately 90 seats and standing space for 60 people are located on the fourth floor. Tickets are for sitting space cannot be guaranteed, but no our guests has had to stand yet!

For application, please email us the date, show, your name and number of people by two days before the tour date.

1. Matinee

Tour dates: 

Meeting time: 8:30am

Duration: 8:30am - 9:30am

Tour fee: 2,500 yen per person

Lecture venue: the coffee shop.

The tour fee includes pre-performance lecture over coffee or tea at he coffee shop and handouts including English summaries. Please note the ticket fee is not included.

<9:30am-10:30am> Participants need to stand in line. (There are some benches in front of the ticket office.)

<10:30am> The ticket office opens

<11:00am-11:25am> Drama, "Kamotutsumi" from "Sugawaradenju Tenarai Kagami" (One act show ticket: 1,000yen)

<12:00pm-1:22pm> Drama, "Hippo Denju" from "Sugawaradenju Tenarai Kagami"  (One act show ticket: 1,400 yen)

<1:42pm-3:35pm> Drama, "Domyoji" from "Sugawaradenju Tenarai Kagami (One act show ticket: 1,600 yen)

2. The evening show

Tour dates:

Meeting time: 12:00pm

Duration: 12:00pm-1:00pm

Tour fee: 3,500 yen per person

Lecture venue:  the Japanese tea shop

The tour fee includes pre-performance lecture over Japanese tea and sweets at the Japanese tea shop and handouts including English summaries. Please note the ticket fee is not included.

<5:15pm-5:45pm> Dance, "Hagoromo" (One act show ticket: 1,000 yen)

<6:20pm-7:35pm> Drama "NInjobanashi Bunshichi Mottoi" (One act showt ticket: 1,400 yen)

<7:55pm-8:20pm> Dance drama "Michiyuki KOkyo no Hatsuyuki" (One act show ticket: 800yen)
